Hotels in Sapa town: the church square, the lake and the view side

266 accommodations

Sapa town (phường Sa Pa since 1 July 2025) is where 266 of the properties on this site are located, from dormitory hostels to five-star hotels. It is the practical choice: every restaurant, café, pharmacy, ATM, trekking agency and motorbike rental is within a fifteen-minute walk, the sleeper buses to Hanoi leave from Điện Biên Phủ street on the edge of town, and the Fansipan cable car station at Sun Plaza is a five-minute taxi ride. At 1,600 m the town is cool all year and cold from December to February, so hotels here are also the ones most likely to have heating.

Which part of Sapa town should you stay in?

The church square and the streets that fan out from it – Cầu Mây, Mường Hoa, Xuân Viên – are the liveliest, with the night market from Friday to Sunday and most restaurants; expect music and traffic noise at weekends and choose a room at the back. Fansipan street runs south-west towards Cát Cát and has many mid-range hotels with terraces facing the valley. The slopes below Hàm Rồng mountain, north of the lake, are steeper and quieter, and the higher you climb the better the view of Fansipan on a clear morning. Around Sapa lake are the larger hotels and the newer apartment blocks; the Sun Plaza area near the cable-car station is convenient but has construction nearby.

Hotels in Sapa town: prices and what to expect

In 2026 a budget double costs about US$25–45, a mid-range room with a view US$45–90, and the five-star hotels – Hotel de la Coupole (MGallery), Silk Path Grand, Pao's Sapa Leisure – start around US$80–135 and rise sharply at Tết (occupancy 80–90 %) and on golden-season weekends in September. Almost all hotels include breakfast; many offer free pick-up from the bus stop and a shuttle to the cable car. Ask for a "mountain view" room explicitly: on the church side of a building the view is the street.

How do you get to Sapa town?

Sleeper buses from Hanoi take 6–7 hours on the CT.05 expressway and stop on Điện Biên Phủ street, from where hotels send a car or an electric buggy, since large coaches cannot enter the 31 central streets.
